So yes, Decimation Haunted House is closing up in the State of Colorado. All of us worked extremely hard to avoid this, but could not do so. The time was right to pull the plug on a failing business. At least, it was failing money wise. The plans we had for 2012 sadly fell through, things just didn't pan out. The money we have lost is quite substantial. We kept having to come up with ways to get more money to keep going, sadly, that isn't the way a business should be, and frankly can't be. There comes a point when a dream makes us become a glutton for punishment sometimes. This was one of those times. So many of gave up so much, some of us gave it all up! Sometimes in the end sacrificing it all isn't good enough. The amount of work, time and money to have a Haunted house is amazing, I never knew it'd be this way, I don't think any of us did. Did we make mistakes? Yes, of course we did. On the other hand, did we kick some major ass? YES WE DID! This was incredibly hard to do, this is our passion, has been for well over a decade now.
I just wanted to write to this to THANK each and every one of you, you all worked your asses off to fulfill a Dream. You all worked and sacrificed for one single cause. Nothing we will ever do will re-pay all of you for your commitment and hard work, nothing will ever replace your friendships and great times we all had at this haunted house. My saying Thank You doesn't go very far, I know this, but, what else can I do? The original creators had a dream, an old school American Dream, and with the help of all of you fantastic people, that dream lived for 2 years strong! That's not something 98% of people get to live, their dreams. So THANK YOU so much for doing what you did for a single cause, DECIMATION!
Nothing can take away our accomplishments, we were compared to HHN for crying out loud, that's UNREAL!! In 2 years we shook this industry as a whole in the state of CO, other haunts now strive to be as we were, they TOLD me so! Other haunts are copying our formula, no amount of money can ever change this or be better than this fact. The talent, the dedication, the passion, the effort, it was all out of this world.
We were so blessed to have gotten this opportunity and it will be forever cherished. So please, keep in touch and keep going! Keep in mind that it is you people that got our haunt ranked in the top 5 and the top 3 in 2011, it's you that made us the SCARIEST haunt in the state, it's you that forced other haunts in the area to take it up a few notches and most of all it's you that gave over 6,000 people in the City of Englewood endless nights of no sleep and nightmares!!!! Thank you everyone, God bless you all and keep the dream alive, YOUR dream. God bless,
Dan Henry
